A credit card can be a useful tool, whether you’re saving money with discounts and rewards or earning cash back on every purchase you make. But if you want the most bang for your buck, it’s important to choose your personal credit cards wisely. Here are ten of the best personal credit cards chosen by business bloggers across the nation.
What to consider with Personal credit cards
When it comes to credit cards, there are several factors to consider. Annual fees, APR, and rewards are some of the most important factors. But what about security? How easy is it to get approved for your dream card? And how easy is it to manage your account online? Nowadays, you have so many options when choosing a credit card that knowing which is best for you can be overwhelming. To help make things easier, we’ve compiled our top ten list of personal best credit cards based on their features and ease of use. Take a look at our recommendations below!
Chase Freedom Flex
If you’re looking for flexibility in your rewards, look no further than Chase Freedom. With 5% cash back on rotating categories every quarter—gas stations, grocery stores, and wholesale clubs—you can choose which spending to capitalize on. Make sure you pay off your balance each month: an APR of 15.74-24.49% applies if you don’t. You also get 1% cash back on all other purchases, plus a $200 bonus when you spend $500 within three months of opening an account.
Wells Fargo Active Cash Card
A credit card offers cash back on purchases at supermarkets, gas stations, and drugstores. The rewards are based on how much you spend, with unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases. There is no annual fee for your first year. This card is one of the best for those who often want to use their credit cards without paying an annual fee.
Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
If you’re looking for a simple rewards credit card that earns miles for your daily purchases, Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is a good place to start. While the annual fee is $395, you’ll get a lot in return. You’ll receive up to $300 back annually as statement credits, 10,000 bonus miles, and a sign-up bonus of 75,000 miles when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months.
Chase Sapphire Preferred Card
The Chase Sapphire Preferred is one of my favorite personal credit cards because it combines flexibility and excellent rewards. Cardholders earn 2x points on travel, 3x on dining, and 5x on travel per dollar spent elsewhere. This can add up quickly if you’re strategic in your spending! Another bonus: 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.
Chase Sapphire Reserve
The Chase Sapphire Reserve is for travelers who want luxury and international travel perks, with a $550 annual fee. It offers triple points on travel and dining and an introductory 60,000-point sign-up bonus. The card has annual $300 travel credits. You’ll also get access to special airport lounges that normally cost you around $50 per visit. And it comes with a Priority Pass Select membership (including free visits to more than 1,300 participating airport lounges). Lastly, points can transfer 1:1 to airline and hotel partners’ loyalty programs.
The Platinum Card from American Express
If you’re looking for a versatile card with great rewards and perks, look no further than The Platinum Card from American Express. This card gives you five points per dollar spent on airfare. With no foreign transaction fees, up to $200 in credit toward TSA Precheck or Global Entry enrollment, access to airport lounges, and more, your travel experience will be even smoother and easier than before. Members also earn 100,000 points after spending $6,000 on purchases in your first six months—all of this for just a $695 annual fee.
United Club Infinite Card
The United Club Infinite Card is United’s top-tier card that earns 4 miles per dollar spent on United purchases. With a $525 annual fee, you’ll receive free first and second checked bags, 2 miles per dollar spent on travel and dining, and 1 mile for each dollar spent on all other purchases. You can earn 100,000 bonus miles after spending $5,000 in your first three months of membership. This card has many benefits, including priority boarding and free upgrades. However, it does not have an introductory APR period or any rewards program outside its basic earning structure. It’s best for frequent flyers loyal to United Airlines who want to earn points for their flight status.
Aeroplan Credit Card
One of Canada’s most popular credit cards, these travel rewards cards earn you Aeroplan miles that can be used to purchase flights or travel packages. Get 50,000 bonus miles when you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first three months from account opening. Earn 3x points for each dollar spent at grocery stores, restaurants, and Air Canada purchases. Earn 1 point for all other purchases and 500 bonus points for every $2,000 spent in a calendar month.
Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express
The Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express is a top travel credit card, offering a strong lineup of hotel rewards and plenty of ways to use your points. With each dollar you spend, you earn 14x points at Hilton hotels and 3x points on everything else. You can earn up to $600 in statement credits throughout the year for just a $450 annual fee. Plus, there’s a 150,000 bonus point after you spend $4,000 in the first three months.

The Discover it® Student Cash Back is one of our favorite options for students in a prime position to reap the rewards without ever having to pay an annual fee. Its rate is super high at 5% cash back on rotating categories. Your first year’s cashback will be matched. It’s ideal for students as no minimum credit score is required to apply.
